A considerable
amount of behind the scenes promotional work for Shakespeare County
Raceway and UK Drag Racing comes about through our Tour & Exhibition
program.
Initiated by
Jerry Cookson and now involving Ozzy Ewing; the intrepid duo take
a Drag Racing display out to various events throughout the UK during
the year. A large amount of time and effort goes into these shows,
and we are grateful for all the help and assistance from various
show promoters and the Drag Racers who help us out with vehicles.

Although Shakespeare
County Raceway do not exhibit at this show, it is still a vital
part of our 2003 promotional tour. In the future however we do intend
to exhibit here so keep an eye out!
With the 2003 show seeing a major injection of Drag Racing from
all areas within our sport; it was an excellent opportunity to catch
up with Lee Child, the new Shakespeare County Raceway promoter,
and all the racers who had vehicles on display. We also could not
forget the various webmasters, track photographers and racers who
turned up for a good look around.

Almost
tucked away out of sight in the midst of various other types of competition
motorcycles was the stunning Top Fuel Motorcycle of Ian King. Ian's
bike was parked across the ACU stand as the sheer presence of 1000bhp
was clearly too much for some of the other bikes parked nearby. |

Gracing
the Good Year stand and shod in new Good Year slicks was the Wildside
Inc Racing Top Fuel Dragster of John and Lesley Wright. John and Lesley
were on hand during all of the show, with John doing a double duty
between the Top Fuel Dragster and his work stand. A busy season lies
ahead for the team and they were keen to talk about future developments.
The Wildside Inc Racing Top Fuel Dragster will be running at both
the Main Event and the European Finals this year. |

Displayed on
the Titanium International Limited stand, in the Engineering section;
was Dave Holland's Funny Bike. Nigel Hoskins of TIL was on hand
talking time to talk to anyone who showed an interest in Dave's
bike or in purchasing Titanium. This proved to be to Nigels' advantage
as he was busy dealing with potential sponsors for the 2003 season.
It is expected that this year will see Dave busy with distribution
of Rock Oil, sales of braided hoses and a 6 second pass!
Dave's bike
was on display with the bodywork removed and typically resting on
the wheelie bars, nothing strange about that but when you get a
comment like "Well look at that a two seater Drag Bike - I'd
love to have a go on the back of that" it does bring a smile
to your face.

Taking
orders for American vehicles was the American Car imports Team, with
the ACI Top Methanol Dragster perched in the pick up bed of a Ford
Lightening pick up truck. With an impressive display boasting a Hummer
H2 and a huge picture of Dave Wilson in action at Santa Pod courtesy
of Bill Sly @ Bad Boys Imagin, the ACI stand was extremely busy all
weekend. |
